Personal Stylist | What To Wear For The Holidays

Dress: ReissShoes: AldoClutch: YSL The holiday parties will be starting up again, from the work Christmas dinner to New Year's Eve you may have a handful of places to go and nothing to wear!! Mabelle Style offers styling for your most important events. If you're in doubt on what to wear or how to put together a fun, fashionable holiday style reach out and we can help. For my personal style I tend to veer towards a great shoe before a dress and then I end up styling around that fabulous shoe. This may not be for everybody, you may want a great dress, or great jewellery for something in your current wardrobe! My personal style in this outfit post is based on a pair of trendy heels I picked up at Aldo recently. I paired them with a dress from my current wardrobe. The shoe really changed the look of this black knit dress, to being party ready!

Personal Shopper | When In Doubt Wear Black

Whenever you happen to come across that particular moment when you don't know what to wear, or what colour to buy for the new season, you can never go wrong with black. Take a tip from Jennifer Aniston. She has an effortless sense of style, but most commonly known to wear black when she hits the red carpet. The reason so many of us fashionista's say wear black when you are unsure of what to wear, is because of its clean, classic look with a never ending sense of style. Black always offers an opportunity to spice it up with trendy accessories and fashionable details to elevate the simple colour and enhance its overall look. You don't necessarily have to spend a lot of money, either. There are shops like Forever21, H&M and Top Shop where you can locate chic black pieces on trend. This outfit post has a glimmer of gold studs and gold accents to dress up the Outlet low-cost dress and jacket I picked up a few years back. The only expensive piece added to this look is the Valentino Rock-stud booties :)

Personal Shopper | Shop Neutral Trends This Fall

Coat: Tory BurchDress: AnthorpologieShoes: Christian LouboutinPhotographer: Christine Pienaar If you haven't noticed yet, neutrals is on-point this fall. The trend was creeping up last fall, but this year it is everywhere!! Creams, camels, whites, light denim, soft gray's, getting the idea?? My personal style has been about monochromatic for a few seasons now, so the neutral looks come easy for me.  I do shop for a lot of clients who love colour and prints, to keep them on trend with the soft hues, I always add a bit of their personal style. This can be a pop of colour or detail as little as accessories. No matter how much you want to be 'on trend' you never want to loose you personal style, a little bit of you needs to be in every look:) This week's outfit post - a classic camel coat with leather detail, a cream sweater dress, cozy for fall and the classic 'goes with everything' nude pump.

Stylist | My Style, Casual With A Little Edge

As much as my parents hated them, shredded jeans are a staple in my wardrobe. I remember my dad's jaw dropping back in they day when I told him what I paid for a pair of jeans with holes! But I love the edgy look it gives. This look came easy for me as it's a go-to.  I put together a fun printed vintage t-shirt, leather jacket and some great footwear for fall to style up the shredded denim.

Wide leg pants for fall

Top & Bottom:Theory Talking about fall trends, makes sense now,  right? The rain finally came this week, it's getting darker earlier which only means it's time to bring out the sweaters, heavier jackets, and all the cozy warm pieces. But now you want to add a little spice to the basics, find some trends that'll work with the season. An easy trend to pop into the wardrobe, an updated pant silhouette for fall is a great trend, because you can keep all the basic sweaters, and the long wool coats but tie them into an updated cut on the bottom. To avoid always going to a denim, yet you don't want a formal 'work' dress pant, insert into the wardrobe the 'wide leg' pant. They are comfortable, loose, dressy or casual. They give a long, lean effect to your legs, and have a relaxed elegance for your fall fashion. PhotographerChristine Pienaar

Secrets of a sensational country-style wedding on a budget

Suit: ArmaniShirt: Custom fit Holt RenfrewShoes: AldoDress: Lux BridalHair: Maia SimpsonMU: Melanie BairdBouquet: Browns Florist Mabelle Style is known for our exceptional sense of fashion trends, but in this special blog post, I will give you a glimpse into my ‘special’ day, and not just the fashion side of things, but the decor, budget and the planning, which was all done by me, my husband and designer mom. The planning began right after our December engagement, as we already had a wedding date in mind, which only gave us six months to collect our thoughts and make this happen. First, we planned our budget. The average Canadian wedding has been in the neighborhood of 40k and up! We disagreed; that money should really be going towards a home for us, not an over-the-top party. Our budget for venue, food, decor, drinks, desserts, hair, make-up, photographer, flowers & the fashion was $8500. How did we do it? Well, here are the secrets... We selected our guest list, which consisted of our very close friends and family. Right there, the planning and budget became easier to manage. The total was for 24. Sooke Harbour House The venue: we looked for someplace unique, intimate, not too formal as we wanted a summer causal gathering, an ocean view with an excellent menu. Recommendations came for the famous country-style

Talking about the difference between a ‘good’ and a ‘great’ fashion consultant

Keeping things organized To separate the Professional from the untrained Personal Shopper is to understand that you are investing in your own personal image. When people confess they need help with their style or hate shopping at the mall, they begin by first googling 'personal shopper', 'image consultant', 'wardrobe consultant' etc. to find what they need. With over fifteen years in the fashion industry, Mabelle Style has built a strong client base by recognizing the needs of many people out there searching for these particular features for their lifestyle. Working as a private consultant, my primary goal is to ensure my clients feel confident, look sharp, but never lose their identity or personality within their new style. My philosophy is to build a profile and create a wardrobe from my clients existing clothes complemented by my recommendations for their new fashions. I have the professional background and training to understand each and every client, and there individualism. A good number of personal shoppers only follow fashion trends, and pull items from whatever is in the stores without researching. But for this luxury service, the professional consultant knows more than what's cool, and that not everyone is able to wear all the trends all of the time. It's a fact that everyone has a different budget, and more importantly, most of my clients don't know what-on-earth to

FLORAL | spring trends

Jacket: A/XRomper: Lavish AliceShoes: Jimmy ChooPurse: Tory BurchPhotographer: Mark Whitehead "Floral for Spring? Groundbreaking".... said Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada in 2006. And so it begins, floral fashions are back, again. When a fashion trend recycles season after season, the key-idea is to keep it fresh. It's all about how you make your own statement by adding a personal twist to keep the look cool, fresh and up-to-date. For my personal style, I don't like to dress too girly. It's just not me. When I hear 'floral', I think, 'how can I add a little edge.' The photo below shows how a leather, cropped biker jacket not only works with 'floral' fashions, but elevates the trendy Romper to an edgy outfit. Photographer: Mark Whitehead Get The Shot Studio
