Personal Shopper | Fall Trends Start With A Print

Coat: AritziaShirt: EquipmentPants: ArmaniShoes: Fendi The number one priority when creating a well rounded wardrobe is to ensure you have all the staple items first. Staple items would be considered the basics. Once you have found the perfect fits and styles for the basics you can then interject the trendy pieces. Those pieces can elevate the basics and give a little pop of colour, print or even some edge. One of my favorite trends that works wonderfully with basics is cheetah print! My outfit post below shows a silk cheetah blouse with a basic black pant & coat - an easy piece that really gives my outfit a jump start into fall. Photography: Christine Pienaar

Personal Shopper | Outfit Post Talking The Motto Jacket

Jacket - MackageDress - Aritzia An abundance of outerwear trends are happening this fall, it's hard to pick a fave! If only I could have them all.... sigh. To give you an idea of options I will be pulling for clients this season in the coat department, we have the maxi wool coat, varsity jacket in oversize or normal size, the structured double breasted blazer, shearling, patchwork and even cropped. Wow, lots of choices right? Lets just say I'm thankful the moto jacket trend has now become a classic staple in the wardrobe, one less coat to buy for the season! The best part about the moto is it keeps getting reinvented as seen in this outfit post, I have a suede version.  The stores have lots of options from faux leather, black leather to colour options this is one trend here to stay! Personal Shopper | Dress Up Your Denim Shorts

Jacket: AritziaBody Suit: American ApparelDenim Shorts: Current ElliotShoes: AquazzuraHandbag: Gucci I love a good denim short for the summer weather, I personally prefer some fade and rips that adds a California, cool casual vibe. Check out Chrissy Teigans picture below to get the look, even when pregnant!! When it comes to dressing up a pair of cute denim cut-offs it can be a bit of a challenge. You need to add a heal, which can be a bad mix if it's not done right. You want to keep the short a classic look but sometimes the wrong shoe can make your entire outfit look a bit tacky. To keep my denim shorts clean, classy and ready to wear for a night out, not just a day at the beach, I wouLD suggest adding a skinny strap heel (keeps legs looking long) and a flowy light weight maxi coat. To create smooth lines and have the jacket be the staple piece, I've added a simple body suit - a must have for 2016! Photography: Christine Pienaar

Personal Shopper | Off The Shoulder Trends

Shirt: AritziaPhotography: Christine Pienaar Spring/Summer's biggest trend this year has been the 'off the shoulder' or 'cold shoulder' style seen all over the runway and now in all the stores. Cotton, polyester, silk and even denim have been the fabrics of choice. This style is sexy but not to obvious. You can create a Coachella vibe with a cotton eyelet top or denim dress. Or go for a dressy look with a flowy silk blend top and skinny jeans. Check out the pics below to get a visual on this latest trend. Personal Shopper | Suede For Spring

Suede Dress: AritziaJacket: A/XPurse: Rebecca Minkoff If you thought the fashion trend from fall with it's 70's inspired retro styles was gone, think again. Suede was popping up all over the runways for Spring 2016. If you have some fall pieces that make the cut, you can now carry them forward to another season and stay on point to another top trend. Keep in mind when shopping for a trend such as suede you may want to avoid bold colours - if you're looking for longevity. Some styles can look amazing in burnt orange or honey-gold yellow but if you find the items in sands & grays they will carry over season to season. Aritzia has a decent collection with numerous 70 inspired 'vegan' suede options for Spring. As seen below I've got a charcoal gray shift dress on that keeps an effortless look. I've paired the dress with a moto jacket & sneakers, but if you want to dress it up and maintain 70's vibe just add a block heel sandal for the complete look. Photography: Christine Pienaar

Personal Shopper | Pretty In Pink For Spring

Jacket: H&MBodysuit: American ApparelSkirt: A/XShoes: Aquazzura Spring fashion is commonly known to bring out that inner-girlie side. Florals, whites and as seen in this post 'pretty in pinks.' This season think blush and soft feminine shades, avoid bold, strong shades of pink. My personal style for this outfit post shows a navy fit and flare midi skirt. To keep clean lines and accentuate the high waist I've added a fitted white bodysuit, this item could be a must for Spring if you want to feature your waistline. For this traditional weather, a powder pink textured weave Jacket is the perfect layering piece that gives the overall Spring look. Personal Shopper | Have some designer in your wardrobe without breaking the bank

Photo: Christine PienaarHair & Mu: Park Avenue (Ladner, BC)Outfit Details Below How to add a little 'designer' to your wardrobe without spending the big bucks! Mabelle Style clients like to tag me for looks that they find on fashion Instagram pages asking me to source out these items as their personal shopper. Often, these pieces are high priced ticket and designer items, especially during fashion week when displayed all over social media. To take the designer style and change or make it a healthy budget shop, I specialize in sourcing cost effective pieces and (could) include an item from the designers collection to achieve the full look. This outfit post is a perfect example. I'm currently obsessed with Balmain. Their items include embossed gold button detail, nude suede military dresses, double breasted tailored blazer, giving meaning to the brands hashtag #balmainarmy. But I'm personally not going to pick up the $2500 blazer because I will find the less expensive version at H&M however, I did source out a cotton Balmain tank that Kendall Jenner wore at the Spring 2016 show and was also able to lose a 0 on the end of that blazer price point! Now I've created my own #balmainarmy outfit heading into Spring 2016 and didn't break the bank! Check out Balmain for a glimpse into the full collection. Tank: BalmainDenim: MotherJacket:

Personal Shopper | Talking Overalls For Spring

Overalls dressed up & casual for spring 2016 Spring trends have started to hit the blogs recently, everyone showing their favorite looks, ideas and trends. Even though I'm usually ahead of the weather I still find a way to style trends based on the current temperature. My first Spring trend for 2016 was a fun pair of overalls I styled for both casual weekends or dressier evenings out. I started the look with a classic bodysuit from American Apparel under the overalls, this ensures no bunching and smooth lines under the one piece. To make the look more formal I added a long coat and a classic nude pump. Styling overalls casually is a bit easier, being all denim. You could add some cool sneakers or a pair of platform oxfords (another big spring trend.) I've also included a bomber jacket a popular look from fall & can easily be carried over to spring! Check out the style shots from photographer Christine Pienaar, bringing the early 90's trend back on point for 2016.

It's rare I get a chance to showcase men's fashion but recently I got some great shots of a day to day look. When the guys look for an updated elevated look, they always want to be comfortable and have room to move. This look gives that appeal with a comfy cotton t-shirt, hoodie, a utility blazer with some slim jeans and boots. Photographer: Christine Pienaar Zara

Personal Shopping | For The Husband & Wife

Photographer: Christine Pienaar Recently, it came upon me just how much I appreciate... and am thankful for... the continued growth I experienced during 2015, especially from new clients. I realized that one of the most successful growth patterns for my brand was the increase of spouses jumping on board with their own personal shopper. This aspect of my business began when one of my clients had been searching online for a personal shopper to enhance their wardrobe and style. Following one - two shops together working full throttle, I then heard from their spouse saying .... "Humm, this is looking pretty good, maybe this is something I would like to try." And once again, together we solved another dilemma. After a substantial number of years living together, several spouses morph into each others style and looks. What happens, I believe, is that once one has elevated their style, looking chic and fashionable, it would only be natural for their spouse to want to experience some of the same. This post shows a snap of my husband and I and our personal style, which is casual with a bit of edge, for day to day. We co-ordinate in some sense without trying. Once again, I am sincerely grateful for the continued growth of Mabelle Style that I have had this year and look forward to helping others
