Who Hiring A Stylist For 2022 New Year, New You, what are your goals going to be? Hiring a Stylist  may seem boujee to some or a luxury service but it's a more relatable service then one might think. If you're one of those people thinking 2022 might be your year to work with a Stylist, check out a few reasons why it might make sense for you to take the leap!  With 2021 being the busiest year to date, I'm sharing with you the most common reasons my clients reached out and move forward with a stylist (like I said more relatable then you think!) The Covid 15 : After almost 2 years of wearing stretchy pants, working from home, clients were preparing to head back to the office at least a couple of times a week. The realization comes, we've gained the covid 10-15lbs and nothing quite fits the same, Insert stylist, were I was able to style these clients with a capsule wardrobe, having them feel comfortable and elevated in outfits that fit their current shape/size, ready for the office. Business to Business Casual: Again with the shift of going back to the office, numerous business professionals shared with me that their companies, firms, offices etc had changed the dress code. What once was a formal office attire is now business casual.

Personal Stylist | What’s Your Personal Style?

What's Your Personal Style? September 13, 2019 Can you think of 3 words that would describe your style? I'd describe my personal style as minimalist, clean & effortless.  I'll give you a few to help out ~ Cool, Polished, Classic, Relaxed, Edgy, Simple, Bold, Quirky, Understated... Do any of these words resonate with you? If not, it wouldn't surprise me if you're thinking 'I'm on this website right now trying to find someone to help me define my personal style!' You may be someone that once had a personal style but as time goes and life changes happen you may have lost your style.  Or you may be someone who has never been able to define a personal style for yourself. Take the first step, start by looking at styles you gravitate to, apps like Pintrist & Instagram can be helpful or think about store brands & celebrity styles you may have liked at some point. Start saving some images and you'll begin to see a trend in style. It could be consistent colours, prints or fits that you're liking. (Tip - Clients often request these celebrities for style goals,  Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow,  Mindy Kaling, Jennifer Aniston, David Beckham & Ryan Reynolds to name a few) Step 2, once you begin seeing trends and styles you like, start to go through

Fashion Stylist | BASICS

Fashion Stylist | Talking Basics BASICS – If you are challenged by building outfits and can’t find anything to wear in a full wardrobe, you’re probably missing the basics! I can’t stress enough how important it is to have quality basics within your wardrobe. As a personal stylist I schedule to meet clients twice a year. (Spring/Summer & Fall/Winter) The first shop, regardless of the season is almost always focused on building basics into their wardrobe. Why? If you’re trying to create a capsule wardrobe or put together outfits and you don’t have that perfect T to layer, a great fitting jean, a classic blazer for day-to-night, then you probably will be unable to pair any of your non-basics pieces.  This often happens because of impulse buys or discount and sale items, clothing that you may think you love but never know how to wear it. Check out images of the must-have basics I would suggest for your wardrobe below…. for both the men and women. STYLE TIP I’m a firm believer in quality over quantity, especially for basics. These are items that you will be wearing most often! You don’t need to break-the-bank account, just be mindful to invest a bit more in quality to ensure they last. Think ‘price-per-wear’ Stick to neutral colours for basics, white, navy, black, gray, beige etc.

Style Tips For Spring

Style Tips For Spring Having trends in your wardrobe or trying to be trendy isn't always the answer to being stylish or fashionable.  I like to suggest that clients first focus on a well rounded wardrobe that doesn't evolve around trends, basics & investment pieces are much more important.  That being said, regardless of how minimal your wardrobe may be, having elements from current trends is important to add in a foundation or capsule wardrobe to keep your style fresh & updated. Keep in mind some trends stick around for awhile and can often be considered investment pieces, but I wouldn't suggest packing your closet every season with all the current trends. Remember not every trend is for everyone! Check out some of my favorite style trends for Spring 2021 below. Updated Trench Coat The classic trench coat is getting a do-over this season with new details to elevate the style. Keep an eye out for bold shoulders, cinched waists and over-sized cuts giving lots of movement to a traditionally structured spring coat. Strong Shoulder & Puff Sleeve By no means am I saying the 80's shoulder pad is back! But a strong shoulder is for both casual or dressed-up. You will find sweatshirts

Fashion Stylist | 1 Dress Makes How Many Outfits??

Fashion Stylist | One Dress Makes How Many Outfits? Ready for a capsule wardrobe?  Meaning, you're wanting outfits vs having a bunch of random items with-in your wardrobe. A style tip that will get you one step closer to that capsule wardrobe, take a minimalist approach (less is more.) You can have something as simple as the ever so popular slip dress and create multiple looks for that one item, with numerous pieces currently sitting in your wardrobe (hoodie? t-shirt? Blazer?) to name a few.... Check out my latest YouTube below, I've taken a black satin slip dress and created multiple outfit ideas for you to try! Fashion Stylist | The Most Requested Look For Male Client’s

Fashion Stylist | The most Requested Look For Male Clients A good number of Mabelle Style's clients have a professional or business background. In regards to our male clients, I find they often work in a job that requires 'minimal' time wearing suits, but they still are required to maintain a professional look. Insert the sports jacket. This has been a go-to look for a large percentage of my clients due to the fact that they are able to wear it to work as well as make it cool for evenings out. When I styled this photo shoot I was excited to share some pictures of this look, so often requested. Style tip * Make sure you find a sports coat that fits! Meaning, have some shape at the waistline and the fabric should have some 'give' to avoid feeling constricted when you do activities or when driving. * Dress up the sports jacket by adding a dress shoe or give a cool casual vibe by investing in a sneaker, such as this pair of Goodman sneakers. Style Consultant | Success With Online Shopping

Style Consultant | Success With Online Shopping Normally, the month of April would be the beginning of the peak season for personal shopping.  Stylists tend to be quite busy between April - June as clients begin to sport some light weight Spring / Summer wardrobes.  Because things have shifted and times have changed recently, with our favorite stores all being closed the past few weeks, this has drastically altered how I (and many others) have adapted to work. A few of my clients have chosen not to wait for the stores to reopen and are using Mabelle Style's Online Personal Shopping Package, I thought I'd share the breakdown and give you more insight regarding it's 4 simple steps if your currently interested in working with a fashion stylist. Step 1 - Client & Stylist discuss and create a personal shopping list for the season. Step 2 -Stylist Proceeds to create a mood (pin) board to give the client a visual of the overall styles they will be working with. Step 3 - Once the shopping list & mood board have been approved, the stylist will then gather together an email identifying each category from your shopping list. Under each category will be links to shop - depending on the time frame of your package you can receive anywhere from 5-25 items per category. Once the client has their shopping

Fashion Consultant | My Spring Personal Shopping List

Fashion Consultant | My Spring Personal Shopping List September 13, 2019 Each season I create a shopping list for myself with what I need (and a couple of wants) to add to my wardrobe. A similar shopping list is created for all Mabelle Style clients. The reason a shopping list is so important is to support clients from making bad purchases, buying items you do not need and help avoid impulse shopping. Check out my personal shopping list for this Spring / Summer season as well as some inspo below! Be mindful that every client's shopping list can look different based on their personal style and needs. I usually focus on a refresh of basics and a couple of very seasonal/trendy pieces to kick up my overall neutral wardrobe. This season I didn't add any accessories such as jewelry, hats, handbags as I felt I currently have a good assortment. BACK TO BLOG LIBRARY
