Wearable Fall 2024 Trends

As someone who prefers neutrals over noisy prints, I do appreciate seeing bold styles that showcase ones personality. This season, the quiet luxury is still here but with a twist, adding some playful pieces that we’ve seen on the runway, that are actually wearable!

Now remember, as you read through keep in mind not every trend is for everyone and an easy way to incorporate seasonal trends is through accessories. The key take away for each season is to keep your capsule wardrobe fresh and up to date by adding a few seasonal trends. Before you do this,  go through your current wardrobe and remove items that are worn or outdated, then make a shopping list of what capsule pieces need replacing and what trends will be worth adding. You want your trendier items to be cohesive to your personal style & current wardrobe, this makes it easy to create interchangeable outfits.

Lets Talk Trends

I’ve broken down the trends that could be worth adding to your wardrobe to give your capsule collection a refresh and keep it up to date.

Elegance: think satin and tweed fabrics, shift dresses and my personal favourite is the lady jacket which is a great piece to update your blazer game. The lady jacket is a shorter, boxy cut with cute buttons and textured fabrics great for Fall/Winter. Adding a little glamour & elegance to your past street wear pieces will give a nice mix to your personal style.

Plaid: Adding just one plaid piece into your wardrobe this season can create many interchangeable looks.  A favourite of mine, the plaid blazer but there are many options, skirt, scarf, cardigan to name a few. Don’t go crazy with this trend, if you’re into it add only a piece or two.

Colour: I love a great monochromatic outfit, but the outfit doesn’t always need to be neutral, this years trending colours are perfect for a Fall monochromatic look, depending how bold you want to go.  Burgundies, pinks and all shades of greens are at the top of the list for tending colours.

Leather Jacket: finally we’re seeing leather again. An easy way to transition into Fall is by layering a leather jacket and it seems any shape will do. Vintage, motto, oversized, fitted, bomber.

Puff sleeves: Elevate even your most basic top by having a puff sleeve. If you find a puff doesn’t work for your shape, a Fall sweater that has a heavier neckline or lots of movement is a simple way to update your tops. It’s about the little details with the shape & fabrics.

Denim that moves: Slowly you have shifted away from the skinny jeans, maybe moved into a straight cut. Now you can start looking at the wide, barrel or flowy style jean. Try some denim that has movement. Remember the key to having denim look great is having the correct rise & hem lengths then I can guarantee these updated cuts will work for you!

Big Bags: I still love my cross body bags for practicality, but I have to say the look of the shoulder bags in a larger tote size are gorgeous, they elevate any outfit! An easy way to incorporate a trending seasonal colour is by doing it in a handbag. You will see a lot of burgundy bags this season.
