Spring Styling Tips 2025
Spring fashion pieces started coming into the stores early January! Which can seem odd to some as we’re usually in a cold snap or heavy rains at that time. But now, being in early February I’d say we are probably feeling a bit tired of this winter weather and want to start thinking about warmer days. With that being said, I think it’s the perfect time to share some Spring styling tips to get you set-up for the season.
If you’ve read past blogs, I often state that not every trend is for everyone and the goal is to have a capsule wardrobe first then add some trendier pieces into the wardrobe each season that suit your personal style and will give your wardrobe a refresh.
Check out some ideas for the season below.
Sporty luxe
We love are athleisure and there is usually a time or place for the comfortable, lululemon outfits. This Spring, we’re taking it to the next level, by styling some sporty pieces with elevated pieces (think trousers, blazers, trench coats etc.) This may not be a style for everyone, but if you think it’s a look you want to tie into your personal style, here’s a few items I’d suggest: A baseball hat, elevated sweatshirt with or with out graphic, cool sneakers or a sporty jacket.
Utility Update
Think lots of pockets! Utility looks have been around in past seasons with the cargo pants, but now we have more pockets and the cuts are a little looser, nothing to fitted or skinny. We’re looking at jackets with the big pockets on them as well as lots of olive green pieces. This trend is focused on being oversized with lots of movement, keeping to a 90’s feel. To get this look, size down when trying the oversized pieces! You’ll then feel more like your wearing the item vs the items wearing you.
70’s Bohemian Vibes
Chloe was the brand that really brought this aesthetic back into are wardrobes. With flowy chiffon blouses, platform wedges and beaded bags on the runway, they had everyone talking. If you initially think, boho is not my style, there is a few ways to incorporate this trend, even in the most conservative wardrobe. Neutral & earthy tones, fabrics like lace mixed into a cotton or chiffon blouse or just adding an accessory, like a suede bag. The easiest way to bring this trend into your wardrobe is by adding a wide leg jean. A wide jean may have a 70’s vibe but actually works with all personal styles.
Light Pinks & Mocha Browns
Each season there is a hot colour to incorporate into your wardrobe. This past Fall it was burgundy, which is a great shade to carry into Spring and will work well with the powder pink trend that we are going to see everywhere. If powder pink tends to wash you out, you can always do a deeper shade of pink or add the lighter shade as an accessory (handbag or shoes!)
The other colour that’s recently been talk of the town, mocha! It was named colour of the year for 2025. A nice earthy shade of brown that will work well with a cream jean heading into Spring. If you find shades of browns are not your colour, try a suede handbag in this colour. An elevated way to style both the colour & 70’s trend all in one.
