Now more than ever we need to support Canadian Brands and local businesses, with holidays coming this is a great opportunity to learn about supporting local when purchasing gifts! To encourage this I want to share some of my personal favorite Canadian brands to shop for women & kids. Mabelle Style clients will have already heard about these brands as I’m consistently passionate and excited when I find Canadian designs for them! Melanie Auld & Jenny Bird
Melanie Auld, you may have heard of this brand from Jillian Harris and there partnership on the popular adorned line. A Vancouver based company that not only stays on trend but also has timeless pieces that last a lifetime. Collections range from gold vermeil, sterling sliver & fine which allows the brand to be attainable to all markets with a wide offering & price points.
Jenny Bird is a go-to for fun on trend items both brass plated in silver & gold. Her style is bold, edgy and will take any outfit your wearing and kick it up a notch! Great price points, Toronto based. You can catch a lot of celebrities wearing her line in their street style fashion.

Sentaler & Mackage
Sentaler often warn by the Royals & Stars (Meghan Markle has been spotted numerous times in a Sentaler coat.) The designs are classic and timeless. My favorite feature is the weight of the coats, they are not heavy! They can keep you super warm during the cold Canadian winters, Toronto based.
Mackage is a Montreal based brand known for its leather details added to their outerwear and accessories. I first became a fan with the classic motto style leather jackets but once I started trying the wool coats I became a huge fan! The small details on each and every style is what separates Mackage from other brands, beautiful button choices & fabric details.
Designer Brand
Smythe & Greta Constantine
Smythe Brand is a Mabelle Style client favorite! It’s not just about a blazer they really know how to capture perfect tailoring for the women’s body, with unique prints and textures for every style. I’ve never found a blazer that fits as well as a Smythe. They have expanded the collections from blazers & outerwear to much more, adding beautiful pieces including cozy sweaters, blouses and full piece suits. Toronto based.
Greta Constantine is bold with statement making, conversation pieces like no other. I’m not sure when we will be heading to events again, but when we do this is a Toronto based brand not to miss. The evening wear has an avant-garde vibe with distinctive shapes, tailoring & details.
Kids
Mini Mioche & LP Apparel
Mini Mioche is a Toronto based brand with gender-neutral styles made ethically and locally! Super soft organic fabrics, classic styles to wear everyday and easy to mix & match with-in your child’s wardrobe. I personally don’t like a lot of stuff so I build my daughters wardrobe around items form this brands as basic and pop in a few pieces here & there. The slouchy toque is a personal fave!
LP Aapparel is a super fashionable brand (think urban style for kids.) Trendy flat top hats in neutrals or crazy prints, the coolest kids socks, comfy sweatshirts and so much more! They have many options for fun accessories as well as apparel, Montreal based.
