Refresh Your Fall Wardrobe 2025 (Men’s)
By Paul Matheson of Ambrose Closet
Thinking of ways to inject some newness into your Fall 2025 wardrobe? While men’s fashion trends don’t move too rapidly, it might be time to try something exciting and new. This year men’s fall wardrobing is about updating key staple items, investing in quality, eschewing social media micro trends and building a practical wardrobe for the season. Practical, however, does not mean boring. Men can add some personality through textural
elements, pattern, colour and updated accessories. Here are a few modern updates to consider while putting together your shopping list.
1. Denim Update – While wearing white or cream past Labour Day is totally fine, maybe skip the light blue washes. A crisp pair of indigo selvedge denim or mid to darker washes that can be dressed up are more appropriate this season, check out Naked & Famous for the perfect weight of Selvidge.
2. The Cardigan – In chunky knit, bright colour, bold pattern or mohair. This is where you can incorporate more fun and personality to your outfits. Wear one with a heavy weight t shirt and a pair of tailored trousers for a smart casual look.
3. Return To Tailored Pieces – Classic suiting and sport coats in soft flannel or tweed fabrics will bring some texture and warmth to the coming cooler months. Also worth noting, the classic two piece suit is making a come back and helps with creating an uncomplicated work week uniform.
4. Sturdy Footwear – A solid pair of boots or a thick soled boat shoe, that can tread through fallen leaves and puddles, will look great with your favorite denim, work wear pants or relaxed trousers.
5. The Big Coat – Mixing comfort with high fashion the right outerwear can anchor the look of any outfit. A long belted trench coat or a relaxed tweed over coat with streamlined layers underneath will add a refined sartorial touch to your fall wardrobe.
6. The Work Week Bag – Messenger bags and tote bags are ideal for the daily commute. This fall look for options in leather to give your outfit an edge. For those with less to carry try a boxy cross body.
