Holiday Season Style
The holiday season is officially coming! Between the annual work Christmas party, school concerts, family gatherings, and catch-ups with friends, your calendar fills up faster than you can say “festive.”
When your to-do list reaches a zillion things, curating the perfect look for every event often falls by the wayside. Before you know it, you’re scrambling through your wardrobe at the eleventh hour, convinced you have nothing to wear. Or worse, you make a frantic trip to the mall, making impulse purchases, and end up in an outfit that doesn’t quite feel right, leaving it to gather dust in the closet, never to be worn again.
This year, plan ahead for your upcoming event(s) To help you through the holiday season feeling confident, comfortable, and put-together, here are a few tips to get you ready, ahead of time.
Plan Ahead
Before you even look at your closet, take five minutes to map out your upcoming holiday events. Note the dress code and vibe for each (e.g., casual family dinner vs. cocktail-attire work party). Knowing what’s actually ahead prevents you from panic-buying.
Use Capsule Pieces
You don’t need a brand-new outfit for every single gathering. Look to the reliable foundation pieces already in your wardrobe, like tailored trousers, a satin midi skirt, or a well-fitted blazer and build on those basic items, shopping for a little sparkle or pop of holiday colour.
Accessories
The easiest way to transform everyday favorites into holiday-ready looks is through intentional accessorizing. Think metallic clutch, add a statement earring, or pair a fabulous high heel. A touch of texture (like satin, velvet, or sparkle) instantly signals holiday without requiring a complete wardrobe overhaul.
Try On Before The Event
Try on your planned outfits a couple of weeks in advance. Check for fit, comfort, and whether your shoes and undergarments actually work with the look. Discovering you don’t have the perfect look or aren’t feeling great in the outfit you thought with 48 hours remaining till the party is a recipe for stress and impulse shopping.
Shop With Intention
When adding holiday pieces, think can I wear this more then once? Can I create at least 3 different ways to wear the piece(s) I’m purchasing. Have intention when shopping for your upcoming events.
