Have you ever considered what your style and wardrobe say about you?
Personal style carries immense psychological weight. For some, like myself, fashion is an exciting passion, we already know the confidence that comes from stepping out in that perfect look. For others, style can be dismissed as something superficial and materialistic.
But, the truth is, having an elevated, consistent, defined personal style can have life changing impacts on who you are today. It’s not just about an item of clothing, it’s discovering fits and styles that you feel great in.
First Impressions & Career Trajectories
Are you wanting to move up in your career, maybe feeling undervalued at work or in your personal life? It’s time to take a look at how you feel in the style you are currently putting out into the world.
Your overall style can speak before you ever say a word. I like to say personal style is the visual business card you didn’t know you had. You set the tone on how others could perceive you, your capabilities and attention to detail. Confidence is key, when you are in a great outfit, your posture can change, your attitude can shift and most importantly your confidence will show.
Your Wardrobe Is An Investment
When building a personal style, you have to shift your mindset from I’m spending money on clothes to I’m investing in myself. Shopping for quality outfits vs over consumption is important. Curating a wardrobe is an investment in your personal brand. Choosing outfits that are tailored for you is not something to look at as superficial. When you learn how to invest in your wardrobe and figure out what fits your shape and lifestyle, the return can be not just in the looks but the time saved. Having the mental clarity of knowing what fits and feels good. You are worth the investment.
Style Evolves
Over time, style can become stagnant, you can’t figure out why you look in a full closet and think that you have nothing to wear. It’s because you have changed over the years and your style easily may not have grown with you. Style needs to intentionally evolve. Focus on major shifts in your life, ask yourself, is my current style serving me? More likely then not, your body shape has changed, your lifestyle transitions and your personal goals have evolved. That nothing to wear feeling is often a sign of misalignment, your wardrobe is from the past and you have moved forward.
Style Goals
Ignore all the naysays, who may not see the value in creating a personal style. The ultimate goal is creating an elevated personal style that is aligned with who you are today. It should go hand in hand, with who you are on the inside and how you present yourself on the outside.
Invest in outfits that reflect the life and career you have or aspire to today.
Style isn’t about chasing trends! Ignore the over consumption of Instagram & TikTok style reels and find a style that matches you and your values….. the world will take notice!
