@ASOS gives mabelle style options for the midi dress

The midi dress is one of my fave summer dress options.  I have to admit when I put some clients in this look they seem unsure at first saying “I’m use to showing more leg” or “I want to stick to the maxi dress and flip flop look.”  Once I get them in the right shoe and accessories they immediately become a fan of the midi!  The look shows enough leg to still be sexy but covers enough leg that you could wear this style for any occasion and fit right in!

Asos is a great site that offers lots of options and multiple brands.  The Asos brand itself has affordable prices and a large selection of the midi’s.  I have attached some looks from the bodycon to the girly styles. All dresses come from the Asos line at www.asos.com. Price ranges from $40 – $70’s.. Great deals!

Maxi Dress – for the actual first day of summer weather

imageimageimageimageIt’s been awhile for the summer weather to hit in Van city. The dresses and sandals have slowly been collecting dust until Canada day weekend.
Attached is a maxi dress I scored at the Victoria Secret sale for $39! Paired with some orange Kors by Michael Kors sandals. I’ve added a collection of silver bracelets given to me over the years from Mallory’s travels. The leather wrap I picked up in a market at Venice beach. Alternative looks attached. Piperlime.com shows a black maxi dress for $108. Old Navy shows a blue maxi for $29. Lots of great price options to get the look!

Fashion is back in Vancouver!

imageI’m excited to be back to the blogging world after taking a short break and here is a brief update before I start rolling out my latest fashion finds.

I had taken a break from the hectic shopping world and have now created some balance which has given me a new perspective on life.  However, this didn’t mean I didn’t stop shopping, giving people fashion advice, or getting trapped in a closet clean out! I can never say no to any of that to much fun!

Right now I am in a much more peaceful place in my life with a new apartment, surrounded by great family & friends, and some new shoes of course :)  I look forward to posting new updates about fashion talking about my outfits, my travels, and the latest trends.

My new blog has been named after my grandma Mabelle Neeve who was a Toronto based clothing designer. She graduated from the Anderson School of Designing in 1932 and went on to work as a dress designer for Eaton’s.

Be sure to follow me on twitter, Instagram, or email me with any questions or comments.

Nike ‘dunk sky high’ & fashion week

With all the fashion weeks coming up starting with NYC we look to see what the top designers would have to offer. Who would have thought Nike was going to show up with a huge hit. The Nike wedge sneaker – I did scoop up a pair while in NY – has not only made a stylish sneaker they have brought out a special edition for each fashion week! See attached photo. NYFW sold out of the pony hair silver wedge in just two hours!!!

Camo keeps coming back…

I swear Camo never stops coming up in the fashion trends. It seems to always stick it out and re-appear in a new cut or style every year. My fave this year is the camo skinny. Current Elliot did a great one, as well as a casual camo jacket. I got mine for a stellar deal $54 at Zara… Would you wear Camo?
