So many sneakers to pick from this Spring/Summer!! I’ve added a few snaps of my personal favorite sneakers from my wardrobe to give you a little sneak peek! To narrow your search down, if you happen to be looking for one pair of cool kicks this Spring, go for the classic black suede pair of http://www.vans.ca style “old skool”. Reason why? It’s a great style to dress up or down! You can throw on a blazer, t-shirt & denim, knit dress & denim or leather jacket, faux leather leggings & a tunic, or even just a cool pair of shorts and tank. Lots of options for a simple sneaker that’s priced right at $60.

We have been seeing this trend everywhere for Spring – the bell sleeve is back! It reminds me of back in 1993 when I had purchased this red and white striped le chateau shirt with massive bell sleeves to match my red patent Doc Martins. I thought it was the coolest look to rock at the young age of 12… lol. Fashion is full circle, styles seem to always come back around. 24 years later, I have taken on a more subtle look to the bell sleeve. It’s on trend and yes some of the bells seem pretty big, but for me a slimmer, streamlined bell is more aligned with my current personal style.
Get my look, the shirt in this outfit post was $24 from http://www.hm.com combined with my fave Frame denim (lots of stretch!).
Do you have any events coming up? Wondering what to wear? Or what I hear most commonly is “I don’t have anything to wear!” When events come rolling around on the calendar from weddings to tv appearances, whatever it may be you usually think, ugh, I have nothing to wear or I have to head out into the mall and find something new.
Recently we did a personal shop for just that, dresses! This particular client has more than one occasion during the year she needs dresses, we pull numerous options to fulfill a handful of upcoming events. This type of shop saves hours of her time in the mall trying to find looks – she spent a maximum 2 hours with Mabelle Style and left the mall with 5 new styles for upcoming appearances. Check out a few pictures of some of our fave choices below!

It hasn’t seemed appropriate to blog about Spring trends quite yet, with the continued snow falls that occur every couple of weeks in Vancouver! Unusual weather for us this winter but I’m going to ignore the most recent snowfall (today!) and start talking about Spring Fashion :)
Trench coats have been a staple for women’s fashion every year but this year it’s not just a staple its a big trend from the runway! Lots of oversized, loose fitting non traditional style trench’s have been seen everywhere. I paired my loose light weight http://www.aritzia.com trench with a basic cotton T and some shredded baggy boyfriend style denim. I love the loose fitting light weight fashion trends like this look, but to avoid keeping it from becoming frumpy I always add a heal.

The love of Fashion has been in my blood since birth, inheriting this passion from my grandmother, Mabelle who had been a fashion designer in her youth; a person I may have never met but have carried her legacy on.
About 10 years ago, in February, 2006, I took the leap from retail work into the entrepreneurship of small business ownership. Taking into consideration my business and fashion education studies, my true passion, I put it altogether into a business plan. This was before popular blogging and social media became mainstream, but what I did create for ‘online’ was a silhouette and a service breakdown on a webpage for the new business. This basic site partnered my experience in styling with my work in the service industry being the perfect combination that created an amazing clientele list. I am so thankful for the longevity of these relationships and experiences, which have been remarkable and very special for Mabelle Style. It has always been my pleasure to assist people, and teach them how to look and feel their best, which has been the finest reward of this business.
In celebration of my 10 years organizing wardrobes and styling Vancouverites, Mabelle Style is offering a special promotion!! This offer is for my recurring client base as well as new clients!!

It’s a new year and a good time to reorganize your wardrobe. At Mabelle Style, we recently had our first wardrobe consultation of the season! The client was new to Mabelle Style and liked to shop, so his consultation was primarily based on a ‘wardrobe’ consultation where we shared an abundance of information on colour choices, fits, styles and creating a personal shopping list.
A wardrobe consultation prevents impulse shopping as it is all about gathering information, knowledge and learning, and then take it all away for your own shopping experiences. These helpful guidelines are for when you are out in the stores not knowing where to begin or what to buy! Without a plan, that’s how most shoppers end up with bags of new items from impulse buying that aren’t enhancing their wardrobe. These items just take up closet space, not making practical sense or adding any value to creating a new look.
A personal shopping list provides guidelines and Mabelle Style ensures that you won’t select the first shirt that you see on sale or a bunch of random t-shirts instead of elevated t-shirts that will really kick your style up a notch. It’s money well spent, and saves on costly mistakes
‘Bows’ were a top trend in 2016 fall fashions. Most designers showed them as an option in their collections this fall, in a cream silk blouse with a loose bow around the neck. Personally, I didn’t add the bow trend to my wardrobe until I came across this New Years JCrew dress, a few weeks back.
For New Year’s, I prefer dresses that are not overdone or accented with overt-the-top detailing. The dress option (below) comes in a flowy skirt, fitted waist and minimal detail with a perfect loose bow. I added a chic robe-coat to keep me fashionably warm.
